Weekly Sketchbook- More Men’s Fashion

Some more runway studies from this past week. I’m especially happy with how these turned out. They’re some of the best drawings of this type I think I’ve ever made. I’ve been experimenting with more organic, energetic brushwork while trying to keep my marks elegant and efficient.

Midway through the week, I switched to sketching men’s fashion from the 70’s, and for whatever reason, I wasn’t feeling my groove, so I didn’t post those yet. Every time I sit down to draw, it’s a different experience. Sometimes, an amazing drawing will happen effortlessly on the first try. Other times, it’s more of a struggle. Occasionally, I’ll walk away from a session with nothing worth showing at all. I’ve learned to sit on those drawings and let my eye get used to them before making a judgment.
