Weekly Sketchbook- Men’s Fashion Studies

The fall semester just began at school, and for our second class, I’ll be talking to them about drawing quick full-body gesture studies of their characters. It inspired me to do these men’s fashion studies as my morning warmup sketches.

There’s a little bit of a different focus here than what I’m expecting my students to do. Since they’re designing characters, I’m hoping to get them to focus more on acting and communicating a personality through their sketches. In my case, I started out concentrating on different types of garments, but I ended up getting sucked into exploring texture and lost and found line.
