Sketchbook- Figure Drawings

To be honest, I haven’t felt confident in my sketches during the past couple of weeks. I originally posted the second batch to my Twitter feed but left them off here because I wasn’t sure I was terribly happy with them. I can rarely trust my initial feelings about my drawings. One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned as an artist (and still am learning) is to loosen up on my expectations of what I want a piece to be and appreciate it for what it ends up becoming. It’s often a good idea to give your work time and space, to accept it on their own terms.

Looking at these drawings a week later, I like them more.
