Weekly Sketchbook- More Figures

I try using different brushes or media every time I sit down for my morning warmups. This was originally a way to get familiar with Procreate when I started using an iPad a year ago, but it is a great way to free me up from my own exceptions. Not knowing how a tool will act forces me to engage with it and find its unique personality. I’ve learned to suspend judgment and “meet” my own artwork at the end of creating it.

That being said, I’m starting to find favorite ways of doing things. I’m especially partial to rough, textural brushes for drawing lately. I love how expressive and energetic they are.
