Photo Journal- Nature Walk

I don’t normally think of myself as being interested in nature photography, but when I do go on a hike with a camera, I find myself drawn to the all the lines, patterns, and textures in front of me. Nature photography comes much easier to me if I look at the scenes in front of me as abstract paintings.

Bringing out all that detail and subtle color in such contrasty lighting conditions made these photos the most difficult to develop so far. But, I had a feeling they’d be worth it, and they are!

I’m really proud of the results. They look great as a set. They might be some of the first I try to make some high quality prints from.
